Just spotted this post, Holbrook, I hope things are going well for you.
Some lovely photos of de Beauvoir & Aldgren in this book (she looks very young in the photos and very happy, much more so than in thep photos with Sartre). The difference in their lifestyles was too great was hard for the two of them to overcome, though.
The famous photo of a nude de Beauvoir doing up her hair in front of a mirror (also in the book) was snapped when she was staying with Nelson I think..
